Well, the last few days, let alone weeks have been great; amongst other great crew details, I've discovered a lot about the life of one of the young apprentice's, William Austin Willis.
Born in Bangor, Co. Down in 1914, William's time on the Garthpool formed part of his early training, in a long career at sea which ultimately lead to him becoming a Captain in later life and even a Mayor of a city in Namibia during the mid 50's and early 60's!
There's lots still due to arrive in my inbox and what not soon, I'll keep this short for now!
And there's new members, which is lovely!
Well, Bye for now,
And enjoy this slowly growing website!
